8. Two Forms of Generosity: Seeing and Sharing

Journaling is a generous gift to yourself. You get to share your feelings and opinions without worrying whether someone else might see them. There is no need to play pretend. You are free to speak your heart out. Not only are you invisible to other’s criticism but your own judgment is also nullified. It is a secret, an inside joke, and that makes it fun. You are writing the most honest letter to your closest friend - yourself. And as a dear friend they in turn take the time patiently to see you. Seeing is different from looking. Seeing is the generous act of finding and acknowledging the essence within. It does not mean you accept every word but neither do you dismiss them because hidden somewhere beneath there lies you. Connect the trust of sharing and the kindness of seeing because we all need more generosity.
